About Rebecca Shaw

Rebecca is a graduate of Bates College, Columbia University School of Social Work with a clinical concentration, The Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the New York Counseling and Guidance Service, and she completed training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders at Postpartum Support International.

She has held many positions at reputable social service agencies in the New York Metropolitan area working with adolescents and adults who have been challenged by homelessness, severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence, chronic illness, grief and loss, trauma and teen pregnancy.

Rebecca has worked in her private practice for over twenty years where she provides individual therapy to adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors who struggle with depression, anxiety, excessive worry, life transitions, self-destructive behaviors, substance abuse, grief and loss, trauma and other conflicts. Her subspecialty is Maternal Wellness including menopause. She also offers clinical supervision services to Master Level Social Workers and institute candidates.
